Space Clearing Help

February 13, 2014

Almost 10 years ago I found a space clearing book called Clear Your Clutter Feng Shui by Karen Kingston and read it cover to cover.

The subject had my attention. You see, we were moving from a 3 bedroom, 1200 square foot apartment into a 1 bedroom, 400 square foot apartment and I needed to know how to manage this dramatic shift in living space. Karen Kingston’s book gave me invaluable guidance through this transition. We still work to find a balance, as we hadn’t planned to stay in 400 square feet this long. It’s easier to let go of things when I remember words Karen sent out in a recent blog post

“The process of releasing the things you no longer love or use creates room for something new, both in your home and also in your life.”

Not only that, but the things I release bless someone else. This is a thought that motivates me to let things go, and release the “but I might need it someday” hesitation.

Another book that has been hugely helpful is “Sink Reflections” by Marla Cilley, where love and humor meet organization and joy.

I regularly donate or gift kitchen tools or appliances when they are not being used any more. It feels really good to let things go. Give it a try!
